OUR INSPIRATION
The genesis of the Burton, Livingstone and Kirk name was three noted explorers:
Sir Richard Francis Burton, Dr. David Livingstone, and Captain James T. Kirk.

		Sir Richard Francis Burton 1821 - 1890 A scholar-explorer with an inborn love of adventure, Richard Burton was the first European to visit forbidden Muslim and African cities and live to tell the tale. A noted linguist (he spoke 40 languages and dialects), Richard traveled and wrote extensively
		Dr. David Livingstone 1813 - 1873 “Dr. Livingstone, I presume?” Yes – we mean that Dr. Livingstone!David Livingstone’s travels throughout Africa as a medical missionaryawakened the interest of the outside world in the then-largely-unknownAfrican continent. Dr. Livingstone gained worldwide fame as an explorerand served as an inspiration for African nationalism.
		Captain James T. Kirk The much-admired captain of the Starship Enterprise, Captain Kirk traveled the galaxy to worlds unknown, boldly going where no man had gone before. Truly a leader with vision. “Beam me up, Scotty!”
